- Currently known symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulties breathing, chills, fatigue, muscle and body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
- If anyone shows signs of a COVID symptom, they are to be quarantined in the school until they can be picked up. They will have to stay out of school for 10 days or until the results of a COVID test comes back negative.
- If anyone tests positive for COVID or has been in close contact with someone that is positive, they will have to be quarantined at home for 14 days.
- The Peoria Health Department will be contacted if any staff, student, or volunteer has tested positive for COVID. The school will be shut down for at least 2-5 days until the Peoria Health Department feels it is safe for everyone to return.
- During a shutdown, the teachers will be conducting class through e-learning so that we are not missing days of instruction.
- There may also be situations that arise where staff members have to stay home with their own children and this may cause for PHDS to have e-learning days until we can properly make sure there are enough teachers to be at the school without needing to combine classes.
