Dear Community Friends:

Peoria Hebrew Day School (PHDS) is celebrating its 50th year of offering excellence in academics, and Hebrew/Jewish Studies to the Peoria area community.  The PHDS children and families cherish the school and what it brings to the community.  The children learn to conduct mitzvot (acts of kindness) from their curriculum like visiting the sick, writing letters to seniors, collecting tzedakah (donations), taking care of our environment both inside and outside school, and learning the importance of Tikkun Olam (improving the world).  Other Hebrew and Jewish Studies lessons comprise instruction in modern and biblical Hebrew, celebration of Jewish holidays and lessons about Israel and Jewish history.  It is truly a miracle to have this value-centered education for our children.

These past semesters have been challenging, but PHDS continues to provide full-time safe in-person education.  PHDS students are excited to take advantage of the great experiences and educational opportunities. For example, the STEAM projects which give our students hands-on experience in creating and inventing.  Our children compete and win awards in story and poetry contests.  Our curriculum includes the arts, cooking and P.E.  Our children learn critical 21st century skills to become active leaders and work in teams.  They experience lasting friendships with their peers.

It is important that PHDS remains a leader in education in Peoria.  We need your help to continue that tradition.  The school operates with a very lean budget and we depend upon everyone who has the capacity and desire to contribute to do so.  Please consider making a generous donation so that we can continue to build on the strengths of our past and the promise of remaining an option for all families.

Thank you kindly and may you be blessed with a happy and healthy Spring.
